Roast Turkey

Preheat the oven to 450F. Rub turkey with a little oil before cooking. Sprinke with a little salt. Cook unstuffed with all the chest cavity empty.

Roast 30 minutes on high, 450F. After 30 minutes, turn the oven temperature down to 325F.

FINAL TEMPERATURE FOR SAFETY AND DONENESS IS: 165F to 170F.

Check at the earliest time, so you don't over cook.

8 to 12 pounds 2-3/4 to 3 hours
12 to 14 pounds 3 to 3-3/4 hours
14 to 18 pounds 3-3/4 to 4-1/2 hours
18 to 20 pounds 4-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours
